Job Description:

The City of Loveland is an economically stable community of 12,200 residents located in southwest Ohio. The median household income is $68,500 and the median house or condominium value is $172,000. The median age is 38 and the population is mostly Caucasian with 7% minorities.

Loveland is a home-rule municipal corporation with leadership that is proud of its strong support for the Council-Manager Plan. The City offers a full range of municipal services including community development, safety services, public works, parks and recreation, finance and administrative services. The City has a $22.5 million total budget, 45.3 FTE’s, and an Aa2 general obligation bond rating.

Seven Council Members are elected for staggered four-year terms. The Mayor and Vice Mayor are chosen by the Council from among its members. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council and appoints all Department Directors except the Finance Director, City Solicitor, and Clerk of Council who work with the City Manager but are directly accountable to the Council.

The minimum job requirements are: 1) bachelor's degree in public or business administration with a master’s degree preferred; and 2) 5 years of progressively responsible public management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
