Organization: City of Holbrook, Arizona Salary: The position offers a competitive salary Close Date: The first review of resumes will occur on October 12, 2018. Job Description: Holbrook, Arizona is a diverse community of 5,000 located in northeastern Arizona. Holbrook serves as the retail and trade center for the region and is the county seat for Navajo County. It is the gateway to the Petrified Forest National Park and near the Painted Desert and the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations. Tourism is a major economic factor for the community. The City of Holbrook has been recognized by ICMA as operating under the council-manager form of government since 1960. In addition, the City operates under a City Charter approved by Holbrook voters. The Council is comprised of a Mayor and six Council Members elected at-large on a non-partisan basis to four-year overlapping terms. There are no term limits. The City Council employs a City Manager to oversee the operations of the City. The City has an annual budget of $10.3 million and 55 FTE employees. Holbrook has a volunteer fire department and operates a general aviation airport. Sales tax, utility revenues, and state-shared revenues are the City’s largest revenue sources. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and five years of management/supervisory experience preferably in local government is required. A Master’s Degree and experience in a smaller and/or rural city is preferred. A background in economic development, finance, and community consensus building is desired.
